Split Air conditioning systems
A Split System is simply any system that has an indoor and outdoor unit. An indoor unit is known as the fan coil unit. It blows out both hot and cold air. An outdoor unit is known as the condensing unit.
A drain is run from the indoor unit. This way the indoor unit removes moisture from the air – also known as dehumidifying.
Aquilo will run refrigeration pipes between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit. If these pipes are run on an external wall, we conceal them in colourbond boxing, which is similar to guttering running along a wall.
Split systems are generally reverse cycle (heating and cooling), can be mounted high up on the wall or down low on the floor and are designed to handle one single space or area.
Ducted Air conditioning systems
A ducted system is a system that has an indoor and outdoor unit. An indoor unit is commonly known as the fan coil unit and the outdoor unit is commonly known as the condensing unit. An indoor unit blows out both hot and cold air.
The fan coil unit is located in the roof space, allowing the air to travel through the ductwork that Aquilo connect to the indoor unit, delivering air to various areas. The air is blown out through an outlet or diffuser that is installed in the ceiling of the area that needs heating or cooling.
These systems service small areas to whole homes.
These systems are ideal for small areas in a whole home as they are able to heat or cool multiple areas at the same time. Ducted systems are more aesthetically appealing as they are not mounted on the wall. The only visible aspects of these systems are the ceiling grilles and return grille placed within each space being serviced.
Ducted systems can be ‘zoned,’ allowing areas that don’t require air conditioning to be isolated, thus saving on electricity.
Multi split Air conditioning systems
A multi split system is a system with one outdoor unit that is connected to multiple indoor units, allowing the indoor units to blow out the hot and cold air. A multi split system is an ideal option for limited outdoor space.
Aquilo will run refrigeration pipes between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit. If these pipes are run on an external wall, we conceal them in colourbond boxing, which is similar to guttering running along a wall.
Split systems are generally reverse cycle (heating and cooling), can produce a different temperature for each room and can be mounted high up on the wall, or low on the floor.
Bulkhead Systems / Mini Ducted Systems
A bulkhead system is an ideal and popular system for the construction of homes or buildings. Bulkhead systems are aesthetically appealing as the fan coil unit sits above a built in wardrobe, or in a bulkhead, hiding any pipes or drains. The only visible feature is a custom made grille that sits on the face of the bulkhead or wardrobe.
Bulkhead systems offer a bespoke finish to any renovation and are available as a single unit, or connectable to multi split systems and VRV systems.

VRV / VRF Air conditioning systems
A VRV system has one outdoor unit that is connected to multiple indoor units, allowing the indoor unit to blow out both hot and cold air. VRV systems are an ideal option for large residential homes, multi story offices or apartment buildings as they offer more flexibility with multiple indoor unit and control options and as well as simultaneous heating and cooling options.
VRV system installation is efficient and can be connected to BMS (building management system) if required.
Package Air conditioning systems
Usually mounted on the roof or on a slab beside the building. These are self-contained units that contain the equipment that generates cool air and the equipment that distributes the cooled air. The units are mounted on the rooftop, exposed to the elements. They typically blow cool air into the building through duct work, but other types of distribution systems may exist. The units usually serve more than one room. There are often several units on the roof of a single building.
Mechanical ventilation and Heating
Is the process of changing or replacing air in any space to control temperature or remove any combination of moisture, odors, smoke, heat, dust, airborne bacteria, or carbon dioxide, and to replenish oxygen. Ventilation includes both the exchange of air with the outside as well as circulation of air within the building. It is one of the most important factors for maintaining acceptable indoor air quality in buildings. Methods for ventilating a building may be divided into mechanical/forced and natural types.
Supply air systems
Supply air is a key factor in reducing the spread of airborne illnesses such as tuberculosis, the common cold, influenza and meningitis. Opening doors, windows, and using Supply air fans are all ways to maximize natural ventilation and reduce the risk of airborne contagion. Natural ventilation requires little maintenance and is inexpensive.
